This is a public Matrix homeserver. It means you are required only a valid email address to register and get a Matrix ID on this federated instance. You can connect using any Matrix client, then you can start chatting with every other public-accessible Matrix room and account in the Matrix network.
This homeserver has been created in late 2024, as both a learning project (in order to build experience on illumos-based OS platforms) and a give-back donation to the open source community which built the Matrix ecosystem. We are currently running Synapse 1.120.2 into a pkgsrc zone on OmniOS r151052p. The hardware is hosted by OVHcloud in its Beauharnois datacenter, located in Canada.
Since our hardware and time resources are very limited, we are currently running with these contraints:

Registered users are not allowed to make use of their account to do any sort of activity which is illegal in the country where they reside. Even if we do not inspect their traffic, we'll immediately deactivate any account which will ever be noticed to be in violation of this rule.
This homeserver is operated with the highest respect for its user's privacy: no account activity will be ever tracked or logged by our system outside the scope of maintaining good performances and uptime of the service itself.
Beside these rules, any account will be suceptible to be deactivated at the only discrection of the service maintainer, who you agree to be the ultimate judge of any user's conduit in respect of the community.
This service is provided "as is", and we provide no warranty of uptime, even if we do our best to maintain it up and running in a reliable fashion.
